Art Cooper
The day a client stormed out of a meeting, proclaiming it had been a total waste of time changed Arthur’s life. It was November 1989, and he had spent the past four years at a national financial services company that expected him to promote their own interests. Something clicked that day, and Arthur became committed to making things better. He ditched the scripts and corporate agenda and started his own financial planning and investment advisory firm.
Arthur has the unique ability to help people identify what is most important in their lives and their families’ lives and work with them to create the solutions necessary for success, whether it’s financial or personal. His strong technical knowledge enables him to build comprehensive tax-efficient plans that satisfy the needs and, more importantly, the values of his clients. He continues to follow his passion for guiding and mentoring other advisors especially as they transition to independence.
Outside of work, Arthur finds fulfillment in family, spending time with his wife, Melody and their son, Miles. He appreciates the finer things in life, good wine, travel, and fine dining, but nothing gets him quite so excited as the latest software or tech gadget.

David McManus
David is a problem solver. He has worked hard to become the “go-to” when his clients need answers and advice. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University, David began his career with a top financial firm going on to rank in the company’s top 10% of advisors nationwide in his first year. He partnered with Arthur in 2001, knowing that he could serve his clients more thoroughly and objectively as an independent advisor.
For the past two decades, David has focused on building quality relationships with his clients and their families. Everyone has a unique financial situation, and David is driven by the opportunity that presents – to develop individual, creative and comprehensive strategies that make his clients’ lives that much better.
David is compelled to put others first and attains true joy from people, so much so that clients are often more like close friends. His greatest joy comes from his wife, Kim, and their three sons, Cole, Grant and Jack. David has been an active leader in his church and his sons’ youth groups. A kid at heart, David can’t ever pass up a superhero movie or a new Apple toy. He has a soft spot for country music, but don’t tell Arthur.
Anita O'Connor
Anita’s experience as a special educator made the transition to financial planning a natural one. With a degree in Psychology from UCLA and a Masters in Education from USC, she spent eight years teaching educationally handicapped children at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute. When she became interested in investing, she was offered a position with Gainsborough Financial Consultants, Inc. (GFC), an independent investment advisory firm that specialized in financial planning.
Intrigued by GFC’s client-centered approach, she became a financial planner, later becoming its President and Chief Compliance Officer. When GFC merged with Cooper McManus in 2010, Anita was thrilled to migrate her clients to another established wealth management firm that was equally committed to the financial planning philosophy.
Professionally, Anita’s greatest satisfaction comes from the opportunity to allay clients’ money anxiety by teaching them how to make prudent financial decisions. As the daughter of two WWII veterans and sister to a special needs person, she is particularly passionate about supporting our troops, Special Olympics of Southern California and Alzheimer’s Association. Anita and her husband Richard live in Yorba Linda where they raised two wonderful daughters, Chelsea and Caitlin, and love spending time with Abbey, their adorable yellow lab and her best friend Shadow, their beloved German Shepherd rescue.
